SSG. Paul Brondhaver 
SSG Paul Brondhaver joined the United States Army at age 17 before graduating from New Richmond High School in May of 1986. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from the Univerisity of Cincinnati in 1991. He has served his community, county, state, and country for over 19 years. He has also been an American Red Cross Instructor in Lifeguarding and Health and Safety for 20 years. SSG Paul Brondhaver is a member of the First Baptist Church of Glen Este.
SSG Brondhaver has traveled all over the world to places such as Honduras, Germany, Panama, Kuwait, and Iraq. His state and country has called on him to serve on active duty on 19 different missions and operations. He has helped with snow emergencies, tornado relief efforts, flood disasters, and prison riot containment. He also served with his 216th Combat Engineer Unit and the 1st Infantry Division in Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003-2005). His tour ended early when his combat patrol was attacked with small arms fire and a rocket propelled grenade that exploded near his Humvee in Sammara, North of Baghdad. Paul credits the Lord, prayer, the soldiers around him, his military and the American Red Cross training with saving his life.

Service Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Global War on Terrorism
Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Purple
Heart and the Bronze Star with Valor. When SSG Brondhaver is not serving
in the Army National Guard, he works full time for the Cincinnati Recreation
Commission and teaches school part-time. He also has been a Red
Cross volunteer and instructor for 22 years. He has worked for
the YMCA part time since 1985 as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and building
supervisor.
In 1991,he married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Callebs. Together they have three children, Tanner, Morgan, and Conner. SSG Brondhaver enjoys spending time with his family, serving others and feels it is a true honor to serve his community, state, and his country, the United States of America.
